Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Ronnie Shaban has played in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system since 2012 (through 2014).

He was originally drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 49th round of the 2011 amateur draft, but did not sign. He was then drafted by the Cardinals in the 33rd round of the 2012 amateur draft and began his professional career that year. With the Johnson City Cardinals, he went 0-1 with 16 saves and a 3.05 ERA in 20 appearances. In 2013, he was 2-5 with a 1.73 ERA with 18 saves and 41 games finished in 45 appearances for the Palm Beach Cardinals. Splitting 2014 with Palm Beach and the Springfield Cardinals, he went a combined 0-3 with a 6.81 ERA in 39 appearances. He was a Post-Season All-Star in both 2012 and 2013.

Shaban's brother, Brad, played baseball at James Madison University.
