Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Cliff Markle played for the New York Yankees in 1915 and 1916 and the Cincinnati Reds in 1921 and 1922. He joined the St. Paul Saints in 1923 and went 25-12 with a 3.36 ERA while leading the American Association with 184 strikeouts. He played briefly for the Yankees again in 1924 before returning to the Saints. Overall, he went 211-144 with a 3.69 ERA in his minor league career.
