Biographical Information[edit]
John Grim was a minor league player and manager.
Grim debuted in 1894 with the Richmond Crows. He hit .222/?/.262 for the 1896 Columbus Babies/River Snipes and also appeared for the Burlington Colts that year. He played for the Washington Browns and Rockford Forest Citys in 1897. He split 1898 between the Chatham Reds and London Cockneys. As the primary catcher for the 1899 Austin Senators, he batted .215 and slugged .254. He spent 1900 with the Anaconda Serpents, managing part of the year. In 1901, he was a first baseman for the Portland Webfoots and Grand Rapids Furniture Makers. He hit .225/?/.280 in 1902 for the Spokane Smoke Eaters, Indianapolis Indians and Columbus Senators. He managed the 1903 Portland Green Gages/Salt Lake City Elders, 1904 Columbia Skyscrapers, 1906-1908 Lynchburg Shoemakers, 1910 Portsmouth Truckers/Petersburg Goobers, 1912 Newport News Shipbuilders and 1912 Newark Skeeters.
