Biographical Information[edit]

Pryor McElveen (often referred to as Humpty McElveen) played three years for the Brooklyn franchise, known as the Superbas and then the Dodgers in his time with them.

A site about Kid Elberfeld [[1]] states that Elberfeld replaced McElveen at Montgomery in 1912 when McElveen was traded to Atlanta. That same year, Elberfeld and several other players, according to the article, were arrested for an assault on McElveen in Atlanta.

Through 2019, he is the only major leaguer with the last name McElveen, but there is one other with the first name Pryor - Pryor McBee. There is also a player with a similar last name- Irish McIlveen.
