2003 Rule V Draft

The major league 2003 Rule V Draft was held on December 15th. 20 players were drafted by major league teams. Five of the first six picks were taken from the Pittsburgh Pirates, while the Pirates made no picks in the draft.
The second pick, Richard Thompson, and the tenth pick, Jason Szuminski, were immediately traded for each other.
