1969 Rule V Draft
The major league 1969 Rule V Draft was held December 1 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Only 19 players were drafted by major league teams at a cost of $475,000. For the first time since the rule was instituted, no players were taken under the first-year rule. Lawrence Staab was the first pick.
Only 41 players were taken in the minor league portion of the draft at a cost of $316,000, down from 70 players the previous year.
