Biographical Information

Gene Rounsaville had one decision in his major league career. It was a loss while pitching for the Chicago White Sox on April 11, 1970 against the Milwaukee Brewers. Rounsaville came on in the top of the 8th inning with two outs and the scored tied, 4-4. He struck out Greg Goossen. He came back to pitch the 9th and gave up a single to Max Alvis. Ted Kubiak reached on error by first baseman Tom McCraw and Rich Rollins singled, scoring Alvis. Danny Murphy and Don Secrist came on after Rounsaville and all the runners Rounsaville put on scored. The White Sox lost the game, 8-4.

Rounsaville is in the Reading Baseball Hall of Fame, primarily for a terrific season in 1968 with the Reading Phillies when he posted an ERA of 1.75 ERA for them. He also pitched for Reading in 1967.

He had an arm injury that forced him to retire from baseball.
