The major league 1983 Rule V Draft was held December 5 in Nashville, TN. 11 players were drafted by major league teams at a cost of $25,000 each. The minor league phase was held December 6. 15 AAA selections were made at $12,000 each and 9 AA selections were made at $4,000 each.
