Nashville, TN

From BR Bullpen

Nashville is located in central Tennessee on the Cumberland River, 140 miles west of Knoxville, TN. It is known as the country music capital of the world, hence the name "Sounds" associated to its teams in recent decades.

There has never been a major league team based in Nashville outside of the Negro Leagues, and the city was not a serious candidate for expansion in the 20th century, but the situation is now different as it has stated its intention to bid for a team in the next round of expansion, whenever that happens.
