Biographical Information[edit]
Jerry Bell made 69 appearances with the Milwaukee Brewers between 1971 and 1974. Originally a reliever in his maiden big league voyage in '71, Jerry won his first three starting assignments the next season, two over the Cleveland Indians and one over the New York Yankees. He then pitched a long relief outing to pick up a victory against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park, in the heat of the "pennant fever", showing good control and spotting his pitches well. His most substantial big league time came in 1973, making 31 appearances (25 starts) and finishing 9-9, 3.97 with a save in 183 2/3 innings. He made his final five appearances, all in relief, in '74.
