Edward Alfred Martin

Biographical Information[edit]
Edward Martin played for the Philadelphia Stars in 1951, in the dying days of the Negro Leagues. A shoulder injury ended his career; he then went into coaching and academia. He was a noted basketball coach, with over 500 wins. He also was head baseball coach at South Carolina State College, was a professor at Vanderbilt Universityand scouted for the NBA. He was also a World War II veteran.
