Biographical Information

The brother of Bruce Petway, Howard Petway pitched one game for the 1906 Leland Giants against top competition. He worked 4 2/3 innings and allowed four hits, a walk and an unearned run while fanning one. As most of their games were against lower-level teams, he did pitch other contests that don't show up in the statistical record, at least once forming a battery with his brother.
