Team history[edit]
The Nashville Americans was the first professional baseball team in Nashville, TN. They began play in 1885 as a part of the Southern League. During the first season of play, the team was lead by Lefty Marr, who had 129 hits and a .327 batting average. In 1887, they were replaced by the Nashville Blues.
