Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Shelton was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 33rd round of the 2001 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Ted Williams and made his pro debut that summer. Shelton was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 2003 Rule V Draft.

in 2006, Shelton became the fastest player in American League history to reach 9 home runs, doing so in the Tigers 13th game. After his hot April, his numbers plummeted, and his career never recovered.
