Biographical Information[edit]

In three trials with the New York Yankees, Colter Bean made the logical progression from one appearance (2005) to two (2006) to three (2007), with increasing ERAs (4.50 -> 9.00 -> 12.00) before washing out as a big leaguer. On the Triple A plane, he is believed to be the all-time leader in pitching appearances with the Columbus Clippers, logging 215 games with them while a Yankee minor leaguer. He may be tied or behind 19th century twirler Bumpus Jones, whose minor league totals are incomplete but who did pitch for Columbus for some time. Colter's career ended after time in the Tampa Bay Rays organization and the Mexican League in 2008.
