Inter-State League

From BR Bullpen

(Redirected from Interstate League)

The Inter-State League traces its history from the 19th century through 1952, with many breaks along the way, for periods as long as 16 years. There were at least six different incarnations of the Inter-State League. Teams usually were placed in Pennsylvania and Ohio, though West Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland, among others, had entries in the northeastern circuit. The Inter-State's highest classification was a class B ranking in 1913 and 1940-1952.The league also was awarded a class C status in 1939. From 1895 through 1952 the league suited up a total of 28 seasons.
