The name Washington Colonials was used in 1932 by an entry in the short-lived Inter-State League. Frank Makosky hit .422 with 4 homers and 15 RBI to lead the team in the three Triple Crown statistics - he also went 3-4 on the mound for the 9-17 team.
Some sources list this team as being called the Washington Potomacs, although that name makes little sense.
