Team History[edit]

The Fort Wayne Railroaders, won 3 league titles while a member of the Central League.

The first championship came in 1903 when they beat out the South Bend Greens with a 89-49 record to the second-place South Bend team's 88-58 mark for a narrow one-game victory. Statistics for the league in 1903 showed no Fort Wayne Players among the league leaders. Bade Myers was the teams manager.

The 1904 team backed up the 1903 group with another league title beating the Terre Haute Hottentots by a big 12-game margin. Again the 1904 statistics showed no Fort Wayne boys among the individual or team leaders. Myers again was the 1904 team's manager.

It was 1912 before the Indiana team showed up as a League Champion again, beating out the Youngstown Steelmen by a slim two and one-half game margin. The 1912 statistics showed again that the Railroaders victory was truly a team effort as no players showed up as leaders in the year's statistics. Frank Shaughnessy was the Railroaders Manager.
