Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman William "Bade" Myers played minor league ball from 1896 to 1915. A catcher and first baseman, Myers spent most of his career at the B-level of minor league baseball. He spent much of his career playing for Ohio-based teams in cities like Toledo, Dayton and Columbus.

He collected 2,112 hits and a .287 average in 2,023 games.

He also scouted for the St. Louis Terriers and Cleveland Indians.

Myers, at the age of 24, batted .411 in 126 games (462 at-bats) with the Toledo Mud Hens of the Inter-State League in 1897. Playing first base and catching for the league champs that year under manager/president Charles Strobel, Myers also led the team with 45 doubles, according to Ralph LinWeber's history of Toledo baseball, The Toledo Baseball Guide of the Mud Hens (1944).
