2016 Major League Baseball
(Redirected from 2016 ML)
The 2016 Major League Baseball season was the seventeenth season in which the two major leagues, the National League and the American League, were consolidated into a single entity under the authority of the Commissioner, Rob Manfred.
Events[edit]
On July 3rd, Major League Baseball staged the Fort Bragg Game at a temporary ballpark on the Fort Bragg Army Base in Fort Bragg, NC. It was both the first major league game to be staged on a military base, and the first to be played in the state of North Carolina.
After the 2016 season, on November 30th, a new Collective Bargaining Agreement was signed between Major League Baseball owners and the Major League Players Association. The agreement was reached without the threat of a strike, as had been the case for the previous two rounds of negotiations, dating back to 2006. Changes introduced in the agreement started to be implemented in 2017.
