Biographical Information[edit]

Todd Tichenor has umpired in the Pioneer League (1999), South Atlantic League (2000), Carolina League (2001) and Texas League (2002-2003). From 2005-2011, he worked in the Pacific Coast League. He also worked as a fill-in ump in MLB starting in 2007. In early 2011, he was involved in two incidents: on April 27th, he ejected Ozzie Guillen, who was then caught posting on the website twitter in a scandal. On April 30th, he got into an argument with Milton Bradley over an out call on Miguel Olivo. During the confrontation, Bradley allegedly bumped Gerry Davis and was suspended for the incident. He was promoted to th permanent major league staff in 2012.

Tichenor worked the 2017 World Baseball Classic. He worked his first postseason games in 2014 and was also one of the umpires at the All-Star Game that year. He was named a crew chief in 2023.
