David Ross Rackley

David Rackley became a professional umpire in 2001 and umpired his first major league game in 2010. He was a fill-in umpire in the majors from 2011 to 2013 while being on the International League staff. He was promoted to Major League Baseball's umpire roster in 2014, when six men were added as a result of the expansion of Instant replay and another to fill a vacancy created by the untimely death of Wally Bell. Rackley had umpired 165 major league games at that point. He received his first postseason assignment in the 2016 American League Wild Card Game.
