Biographical Information[edit]
Adam Hamari is an umpire who worked his first major league game in 2013. He was a fill-in umpire that season, working in 48 games, then began working almost full-time with the major league umpiring staff in 2014. However, he was still officially a fill-in umpire at that time and continued to work the occasional minor league game during the period. In 2017, he was one of four umpires added to the full-time major league staff.
He had begun his career in the independent leagues in the Can-Am Association in 2006 before joining organized baseball. He worked in the Midwest League, California League, Florida State League, Southern League, Eastern League and International League before making his first appearance in the majors on June 25th in 2013. Ironically, this was exactly one day after fellow Can-Am Association graduate Will Little had become the first umpire to reach the majors from the circuit. He worked the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
