Biographical Information[edit]

Vic Carapazza umpired his first major league game in 2010, while serving as a fill-in umpire from AAA. He continued as a full-time fill-in in 2011 and 2012, replacing various umpires who were on vacation or unavailable, and was named a full-time member of the major league umpiring staff in 2013. In 2014, he worked the All-Star Game as well as his first postseasons series.

Carapazza worked in both the International League and Pacific Coast League, having started as a minor league umpire in 2003.

He is the son-in-law of former umpire Rich Garcia.
