Biographical Information[edit]
Sean Barber began his umpiring career in the Appalachian League in 2006. He worked in the South Atlantic League in 2007, Florida State League in 2008-2009, Southern League (2009-2011), Venezuelan League (2011) and International League (2012). He worked the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers and MLB spring training in 2012.
At the start of the 2014 season, he was added to the roster of major league umpires as a substitute umpire and worked 92 games that season and 58 in 2015. Before the 2022 season, he was promoted to the full-time major league umpire roster, after accumulating 371 games of experience in big league games in the interim.
