The major league 1985 Rule V Draft was held December 10 in San Diego, CA. 9 players were drafted by major league teams at a cost of $50,000 each. The price of draft picks went up for the 1985 draft after having been $25,000 since 1958. The minor league phase of the draft was held December 11.
