After the 1983, the Lynn Pirates moved to Burlington and became known as the Vermont Reds. The Vermont Reds produced some of the great MLB stars of the late 80's who joined the Cincinnatti Reds which won the World Series. The players were Barry Larkin, Paul O'Neill and Chris Sabo. The Reds became a Seattle Mariners affiliate in 1988 and changed their name to the Vermont Mariners.
