The Huntsville Stars have been a member of the Southern League since 1985 when the club relocated from Nashville, TN. The Stars won league championships in 1985 and 1994 and were co-champion in 2001. Some of the team's most notable alumni include Jose Canseco and Terry Steinbach, and former big leaguer Don Mincher was the club's longtime owner and General Manager. After failing to get funding for a new stadium team owner Miles Prentice sold the team to new owners in January of 2014. In 2015, the team moved to Biloxi, MS, where they are known as the Biloxi Shuckers.
