Biographical Information[edit]
Dave Joppie coached amateur baseball from 1988 to 1994.
In 1995 he joined the Oakland A's organization as coach of the Huntsville Stars for two years. He went on to coach the Modesto A's (1997), Huntsville again (1998), and Visalia Oaks (1999). After managing the Vancouver Canadians in 2000, he returned to coaching with the Midland RockHounds (2001-2003). Joppie managed the Kane County Cougars in 2004-2005.
Joppie joined the Boston Red Sox chain as coach of the Wilmington Blue Rocks in 2006 and was a coach for the 2007 Lancaster JetHawks, 2008-2012 Portland Sea Dogs, 2013-2014 Pawtucket Red Sox, and Portland again in 2015. Moving to the Milwaukee Brewers' chain, he was a coach for the Carolina Mudcats in 2017, Colorado Springs Sky Sox in 2018, and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in 2019.
Dave is also a NCAA basketball official in the off-season.
