Biographical Information[edit]
While playing for the Jacksonville Suns on August 26, 1974, pitcher Gary Lance threw a no-hitter against the Birmingham A's . In 1977, he made his only appearance in the majors, pitching two innings in relief of Mark Littell for the Kansas City Royals against the Oakland Atheltics on September 28th and taking the loss, 6-5.
In 1990, Lance pitched for the Florida Tropics of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. He pitched in 6 games and was 0-3 when the league folded.
Gary played in the Puerto Rican Winter Baseball League for the Arecibo Wolves, Bayamon Cowboys and Mayagüez Indians.
Since his playing career ended, Lance was a long-time minor league pitching coach.
