Biographical Information[edit]
Jeff Newman was a coach for the 1986 Oakland A's and served as interim manager that year, going 2-8.
Newman was named the 1989 Southern League manager of the year while managing the Huntsville Stars. He also managed the 1988 Modesto A's, the 1990 Huntsville Stars and the 1991 Tacoma Tigers.
Newman returned to the majors as a coach for the Cleveland Indians from 1992 to 1999 and the Baltimore Orioles in 2000.
Newman's son Ryan Newman has played, coached, and managed in the minors.
