Biographical Information[edit]
Longtime big league coach Jackie Moore was a catcher with the Detroit Tigers in 1965, getting into 21 games. He also managed the Oakland Athletics from 1984 to 1986.
From 2000 to 2007, he was the skipper of the Round Rock Express, a Houston Astros affiliate playing in the Texas League (2000-2004) and the Pacific Coast League (2005-2007). He joined the Astros as bench coach under manager Cecil Cooper in 2008, then was bench coach for the Texas Rangers from 2009 to 2013.
He was a member of the coaching staff of the Milwaukee Brewers from 1970 through 1972, the Texas Rangers from 1973 to 1976 (with an interruption early in the 1975 season when he managed the team's AA affiliate), the Toronto Blue Jays (1977 to 1979), the Rangers again in 1980, the Oakland Athletics from 1981 to 1984, the Montreal Expos from 1987 to 1989, the Cincinnati Reds from 1990 to 1992 and the Colorado Rockies as Bench Coach from 1996 to 1998.
