China (officially the People's Republic of China) is a country located in Asia and the most populous country in the world (although India is rapidly catching up). It is home to the China Baseball League and hosted the 2008 Olympics.

While baseball is a very marginal sport in the country, it has been the focus of significant development efforts by Major League Baseball, as the country's huge population and growing interest in other American sports such as basketball, as well as its proximity to baseball-mad Japan and South Korea (not to mention the Republic of China) make it a natural market.
