Biographical Information[edit]

Xiaoyu Jiang was on the Chinese national team in the 1993 Asian Championship, 1994 Asian Games, 1997 Asian Championship (hitting a grand slam) and 1998 Asian Games. In the 1998 Baseball World Cup, he hit .412/.500/.529 in China's Baseball World Cup debut. He led the team in average (.064 ahead of Lingfeng Sun), OBP (.152 ahead of Sun) and slugging (.003 ahead of Sun). He had nine putouts, an assist and no errors in right field.

In the 2003 Asian Championship, he went deep off Japan's Koji Uehara to tie Chin-Feng Chen for the most dingers. Playing for the Beijing Tigers, he was MVP of the 2005 China Baseball League.
