1998 Asian Games

The 1998 Asian Games were the second Asian Games to include baseball as a medal event. They were held in Bangkok, Thailand.

Flag of South Korea South Korea won Gold. Major leaguers Chan-ho Park, Jae Seo and Byung-hyun Kim were on the roster.

Flag of Japan Japan won Silver. Shinnosuke Abe was on the team.

Flag of Chinese Taipei Chinese Taipei won Bronze. Future major leaguer Chin-Feng Chen was on the squad as well as NPB performers such as Chien-Fu Kuo Lee and Ming-Chieh Hsu. Ying-Chieh Kao managed Taiwan.

Flag of People's Republic of China People's Republic of China was last. They included Wei Wang, who would be one of the first mainland Chinese players signed by a US team.
