Biographical Information[edit]
Jiping Qi has pitched in the China Baseball League and for the Chinese national team.
Qi pitched twice in the 2014 Asian Games, allowing 8 hits, three walks and 7 runs (6 earned) in 3 1/3 IP while fanning one; four teammates had higher ERAs, though. He allowed one homer, to future major leaguer Jung-ho Kang. [1] In 2016, he was 5-1 with a 2.66 ERA and 48 K in 47 1/3 IP for the Shanghai Eagles of the China Baseball League. [2] He was with China for the 2017 World Baseball Classic, but he didn't appear in any games. He was on the Chinese roster for the 2017 Asian Championship but the team was a late withdrawal. [3]
