Yi Feng has played at times for the Chinese national team. He won Bronze with China in the 2005 Asian Championship, their first medal in an Asian Championship. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he was 4 for 7 with a double, triple, 3 runs and 2 RBI as an excellent backup catcher to Wei Wang; one negative was 8 steals allowed in 8 tries. In the 2006 World Baseball Classic, Feng was arguably China's top hitter, going 3 for 7 with two walks. He is on the provisional Chinese roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
