Biographical Information[edit]

Chenchen Luan has played in the China Baseball League and the independent leagues.

Luan was part of the first MLB Academy in China, back in 2009. [1] He played for the Jiangsu Pegasus in the CBL. He was slated to play for the Chinese national team in the 2017 Asian Championship but China was a late withdrawal. [2] He then was part of a large Chinese group that played for the Texas AirHogs in the US in 2018. He said he was surprised he could compete effectively with American players. [3] He was hitting .255/.292/.311 after 31 games for a better OPS than former major leaguer Greg Golson and 4th among the team's regulars in average, tops among their Chinese imports who had seen regular time. Splitting catching with Ning Li, his defense was not as sharp (.974 FLD%, only 10% CS). He then joined many of his teammates in playing for the Chinese national team in the 2018 Asian Games. [4]
