Jun Zhang pitched one inning for the Chinese national team in the 2006 World Baseball Classic, their last. He relieved Quansheng Zhao to open the 9th inning against Taiwan. He began by yielding a double to Yung-Chi Chen. Chien-Ming Chang grounded Chen over, then Chih-Sheng Lin doubled in the run. Wei-Tzu Lin flew out and PH Long-Yi Huang struck out on a full count.
