Biographical Information[edit]

Yu Bing Ja was signed by the Seattle Mariners along with catcher Wei Wang on June 21, 2007. He played with the Beijing Tigers and Shanghai Eagles.

Jia played in the 2002 World University Championship batting .167/.211/.222 with 0 HR's, 0 RBI, and 1 double. He was 4 for 15 with two walks in the 2002 Asian Games, starting at CF for China until the Bronze Medal Game, when he sat in favor of Guangbiao Liu. He appeared in 1 game for China in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, batting once in which he struckout. He was with China when they won Bronze in the 2005 Asian Championship, their first medla in an Asian Championship. He hit .200/.200/.267 in the 2007 Arizona Fall League. In the 2008 Olympics, Jia went just 1 for 24 (his one hit being a triple) with 12 strikeouts and one time hit by pitch for the host nation. He made two errors as their main first baseman. Overall, he was the worst performer arguably on the last-place team.

He never got into a game in the Mariners system.
