Biographical Information[edit]
Southpaw Baoliang Bai was on the Chinese national team in the 2002 World University Championship, going 1-1 with a 1.69 ERA. He lost to South Korea, but beat the Czech Republic in the 7th/8th place game, allowing only a Michal Kočí double in a one-hitter to top Petr Pacas. Only Chenhao Li had a lower ERA for China; Bai's 17 K tied Jiangang Lu for the team lead and he led China in IP (16). He tied Lu, Pacas and Tsuyoshi Wada for 4th in the event in strikeouts.
He had a 13.50 ERA in the 2002 Asian Games, losing twice to South Korea. He was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, losing to Roger Kops and the Dutch national team. He played for the Tianjin Lions in the China Baseball League, and he appeared in the 2008 Asia Series.
