Tianjin Lions

The Tianjin Lions were one of the four original members of the China Baseball League. They won the first title, in 2002. After 3 years in a row as the runner-up, they won titles in 2006, 2007 and 2008. Their 2008 title meant that they would be the first CBL franchise to play in the Asia Series. Their next titles came in 2011 and 2016. The team has included Cheng-Cherng Kuo (the first Taiwan native to play in the CBL), Jiangang Lu (the first Chinese player to sign with a team in Japan) and Chao Wang (the first Chinese minor leaguer). Other notable players have been Fenglian Hou and Zhenwang Zhang.
