Kai Liu

Kai Liu was signed by the New York Yankees on June 18, 2007 with fellow Chinese player Zhenwang Zhang.

Liu made his debut with the Guangdong Leopards of the China Baseball League in 2000.

Liu performed terribly in the 2008 Olympics, allowing 5 walks, 4 hits and a hit batsmen in 2 1/3 IP. He threw two wild pitches and made an error in his only fielding chance. Both of his wild pitches scored runners and he issued at least one bases-loaded walk. He went 0-1 with a 15.45 ERA.

Liu was China's worst hurler in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, allowing 5 runs on 3 hits, 2 walks and a hit batsmen in 1 1/3 IP.
