Biographical Information

Gan Quan was a member of the Sichuan Dragons when he led the 2016 China Baseball League in strikeouts. With the Chinese national team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, he led the team with 4 1/3 IP, 8 hits, 6 runs, 2 home runs, two games pitched and four strikeouts. He allowed one run in 1 1/3 IP in relief against Cuba. Starting against Japan, he allowed five runs in three innings before Weiqiang Meng took over in a 7-1 loss; all the runs came on homers by Seiji Kobayashi and Sho Nakata.
