2000 NPB All-Star Game

The 2000 NPB All-Star Games featured three contests, and the Central League swept the Pacific League for the second consecutive series.

Game 1[edit]

Game 1 was held on July 22 at Tokyo Dome in front of 40,937 fans. MVP winner Roberto Petagine blasted 2 homers, and another foreigner, Bobby Rose, also recorded a 2-run shot. The PL's Hiroki Kokubo collected a triple and a double, and he also drove in half of their four runs.

Game 2[edit]

Game 2 took place at the Kobe Sports Park Baseball Stadium July 23 with an attendance of 28,538. The CL set the All-Star record by scoring 7 runs in an inning. Takeshi Yamasaki was 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, and he won the MVP. Hideki Matsui blasted a homer, and his teammate Yoshinobu Takahashi was 2-for-3 with a RBI. Ichiro Suzuki was the only highlight for the PL as he went 4-for-4, but his teammates only recorded 3 hits.

Game 3[edit]

Game 3 took place at Nagasaki Baseball Stadium July 26 with an attendance of 17,929. The CL swept the PL as they scored 5 in the 8th inning. Kiyohara's game-winning solo shot earned him the MVP, and Furuta also had a homer while going 4-for-5. Leadoff hitter Tsuyoshi Shinjo was 3-for-5, and Tomochika Tsuboi collected 3 RBI with a pinch-hit homer. Ichiro carried his league again, driving in all 3 runs by a homer in the 8th inning.
