1994 NPB All-Star Game

The 1994 NPB All-Star Games featured two contests, and both leagues won once.

Game 1[edit]

Game 1 was held on July 19 at Seibu Dome in front of 24,999 fans. Hideki Matsui became the youngest cleanup hitter in All-Star history, and he was 1-for-4. Daiei's players shined in this game, Koji Akiyama was 3-for-4, with a homer off Keiichi Yabu to win the MVP, while Koichiro Yoshinaga and Hiromi Matsunaga both also collected three hits. The PL's Makoto Sasaki and Hirofumi Ogawa added two homers, and the CL only scored on Shinichi Murata's 5th-inning single.

Game 2[edit]

Game 2 took place at Nagoya Dome July 20 with an attendance of 26,441. The PL's starter, 39-year-old veteran Yoshinori Sato, pitched 3 innings with only a solo shot allowed to Toshikatsu Hikono, and the CL's Masahiro Yamamoto also struck out three in 2 innings. Pinch-hitter Braggs won the MVP with his clutch game-winning three-run triple in the 6th inning, and Tatsunami was 3-for-3 with a RBI. Ishii was 3-for-4 with two doubles for the PL and Ichiro and Akiyama drove in two of the PL's three runs while they scored with Katsumi Hirosawa's error in the 2nd inning.
