1957 NPB All-Star Game

There were two 1957 NPB All-Star Games and they were split between the Pacific League and Central League for the third year in a row.

Game 1[edit]

Game 1 was held on July 11 at Chunichi Stadium in front of 32,606 fans. Hiroshi Ohshita drove in two runs with his clutch double in the second inning to win the MVP, and Kazuhiro Yamauchi crushed a solo shot in the 4th inning. Ohshita added an insurance run with another double in the 9th inning, and Mutsuo Minagawa drove him in. Takao Kajimoto and Kazuhisa Inao combined to shut out the CL for 6 innings while fanning seven, and the CL finally broke through against Minagawa in the 9th inning with Kenjiro Tamiya's two-run shot. Atsushi Aramaki successfully closed the door for the PL.

Game 2[edit]

Game 2 took place two days later at Chunichi Stadium, with an attendance of 25,395. Kenjiro Tamiya was 2-for-4 with a RBI, and Andy Miyamoto won the MVP with his game-winning, solo home run off Inao in the 7th inning. The PL only needed 4 hits to score four, and Kihachi Enomoto drove in half of their runs with a timely double.
