1960 NPB All-Star Game

There were three 1960 NPB All-Star Games because of the 10-year anniversary of the event. The Pacific League won twice while the Central League won the other one.

Game 1[edit]

Game 1 was held on July 25 at Kawasaki Stadium with an attendance of 20,768. Nobuyasu Morishita drove in the game-winning run with a double in the 2nd inning, and Kazuhiro Yamauchi added a solo shot off Masaaki Koyama in the 6th inning. Tetsuya Yoneda pitched 3 shutout innings to get the win, and Tadashi Sugiura struck out 4 in his 3 shutout innings. The CL only scored by Akira Owada's solo shot.

Game 2[edit]

Game 2 took place at Korakuen Stadium on July 26 in front of a crowd of 29,439. Masaichi Kaneda won the MVP as he got the win in 2 shutout innings, and also collected the game-winning RBI single in the 9th inning. Carlton Hanta made history, recording the first inside-the-park home run, against Eiji Bando in the 7th inning.

Game 3[edit]

Game 3 took place at Korakuen Stadium on July 27 in front of a crowd of 29,405. Hajimu Tatsumi blasted the first homer by a pitcher in the 7th inning, and his teammate Michael Solomko and Takao Sato also hit homers in the same inning. However, they still lost this one-run game, and Isao Harimoto won the MVP with his 2-run homer in the first inning.
