1956 NPB All-Star Game
There were two 1956 NPB All-Star Games and they were split between the Pacific League and Central League.
Game 1[edit]
Game 1 was held on July 3 at Korakuen Stadium in front of 32,855 fans. MVP winner Nobuyasu Morishita was 2-for-5 with a clutch 2-run single in the second inning, and Kazuhiro Yamauchi was also 2-for-5. Catcher Akitada Tsukuda added two insurance runs with a homer in the 8th inning. Yukio Shimabara, Takao Kajimoto, Atsushi Aramaki and Fumio Takechi combined to shut out the CL while striking out 7. They only surrendered four singles, and half of them were from Tetsuharu Kawakami.

Game 2[edit]
Game 2 took place a days later at Korakuen Stadium, with an attendance of 28,257. It was a pitcher's contest, and the PL was shut out this time. Masaichi Kaneda struck out 5 in his 2 1/3 innings, and Totake Nakayama got the win. The MVP went to Yoshio Yoshida, who hit the game-winning RBI single in the 5th inning. Jun Hakota drove in the other run in this game with a 9th-inning single.
