1961 NPB All-Star Game
There were two 1961 NPB All-Star Games; the Pacific League pulled off their second two-game sweep, having done so in 1954.
Game 1[edit]
Game 1 was held on July 18 at Chunichi Baseball Stadium with an attendance of 24,452. The game was a pitching showcase, as Tadashi Sugiura (W), Glenn Mickens, Masayuki Dobashi and Kazuhisa Inao gave up just three hits to the Central League, with Mickens working 3 hitless frames from the 4th to the 6th (though he walked two). The Pacific League got their only offense when game MVP Yoshinori Hirose hit a three-run jack off Yoshimi Moritaki in the 4th.
